"F/16 sent three gun sections to LZ Button on 11 September 1969. On 17 October, F/16 was detached from the 6/27 and attached to 2nd Bn. 12th Arty of the 23rd Arty Group. The battery moved via road convoy to Fire Support Base Thunder III on Highway 13. This was the main road between Saigon and Quan Loi, often called 'Thunder Road' and/or 'Ambush Alley.'
