Huey crash next to A Battery on the landing field. The pilot “pranged” the craft when it came in for a landing and it tipped its blades into the ground and disintegrated. No one was killed but the craft was a total loss and many soldiers were injured. When one of the injured was being loaded on a chopper to go to the MASH he was fighting to not get aboard. Afterward I asked a trooper why he didn’t want to go to the hospital and he said the trooper had been in 3 previous chopper crashes.
